"I have worked in a hospitality role for 27 years and I thought I was far too old to learn, but I was encouraged by my supervisor  and colleagues to do an NVQ Apprenticeship so that I could gain a qualification in my job role. I am currently still doing my Level 2 NVQ Apprenticeship, but some of my work colleagues have already completed theirs. My assessor is excellent, she has worked for many years teaching hospitality in College and different work places. She has helped develop my skills further and I am allowed to go at my own pace. There was Maths and English assessments to complete, but my assessor gave me lots of support by providing me with information and practice papers. When it came to these assessments, I felt very confident and passed. When I was deciding whether to do the qualification I was worried that I would have to spend a lot of time doing homework, this was not the case. Apart from practising Maths and English everything else has been done at work. I am enjoying my NVQ Apprenticeship qualification and it does prove that you are never too old to learn."

Sarah Johnson, Sunderland

"My assessor was excellent and very supportive. He was always available either by telephone, email or in person. At the end of each visit, we would discuss what I had covered and plan the next visit, so I was always prepared. We would always recap on where I am within my qualification and discuss any concerns or questions. My Apprenticeship was enjoyable and I particularly liked the professional discussions and found most of the evidence from my day to day job role in business administration. There were occasional bits of work which I did at home, but I enjoyed doing it once I understood it and now have a Level 3 qualification."

Claire Bennett, Middlesbrough
"Last year I gained a Level 2 hospitality qualification and have just recently completed my Level 3 in Hospitality Supervision. Firstly, I wanted to comment on the qualification content and say how relevant each unit has been made. I was not too keen on completing Functional Skills but I was very pleased to pass these and now see the importance of good Maths, English and ICT especially since I got promoted at work. This would have not been possible without the help and motivation I received from my assessor. Susan has assessed both courses and given me plenty of encouragement, support and inspiration throughout."

Paul Edwards, Durham

"Let me tell you about the support and encouragement given to me by Licensed2train. I have always worked in the pub trade since leaving school and did not know I could get a qualification whilst at work. When I met Brian he provided me with lots of information and discussed various NVQ qualifications suitable for my job role and I chose one that best met my needs. He planned visits regularly with me and I always received positive feedback on how I was progressing and answered all of my questions. It certainly helps when you have an assessor who has worked as a publican and completely understands your job. I would have no hesitation in recommending Licensed2train to anybody wanting to do a work place qualification."
